Thyagaraja is now a legend. He has become so famous that over the years, several accounts of his personality, life, and works have been produced. Today, when we read and compare these various accounts, we find that sometimes there are conflicting details.  Sometimes, we get a suspicious feeling that some details may have been added. In this web-space, we hope to document in one place as much information about Thyagaraja as we are aware of, and in as accurate manner as possible, so that you may arrive at your own appreciation of the real Thyagaraja - his personality, life and works. We also hope to add information about the 'times' of Thyagaraja, so that we may come to notice what else was happening in India and the world, at the time when Thyagaraja lived.
